Your Resume Coach

Let’s build a resume that sounds like you.

You do not need lots of work experience. School, sport, volunteering, clubs, caring responsibilities and projects can all show employers what you can do.

Your street address is not needed.
Tip: use an email address that looks professional. Your name is usually best.
Only include subjects that support the kind of role you want.
Choose around 5–8. You can add your own too.
Employers trust examples more than adjectives. “Reliable” is stronger when you explain how you have demonstrated it.
No paid job yet? That is completely fine. Focus on things that show responsibility, teamwork, initiative, communication or practical skills.
Aim for 2–3 sentences. Keep it specific, positive and believable.
Always ask someone before listing them as a referee. A teacher, coach, supervisor or community leader can be a strong choice.

Add a few more details to strengthen your resume.

1. Choose your resume design

Choose the style that feels most like you. Your live preview will change immediately, and the same design will be used when you print or download for Word.

2. Get your finished resume

Printing uses your selected design. The Word download creates an editable .doc file using the same design, so you can continue refining wording and formatting in Microsoft Word.
